WELCOME TO THE SHIRE

Truckee living,
with a neighborhood heart.

Glenshire sits on Truckee’s east side, with homes, open space, and everyday stops along the Glenshire Drive corridor. Compare these neighboring communities by setting, home style, and association—not just a name on the map.

Glenshire / Devonshire

Established residential streets and the Glenshire/Devonshire Residents Association’s recreation hub anchor the neighborhood. Confirm membership and amenity access for each property.

Cambridge Estates

Explore another pocket of the greater Glenshire area, with its own homeowners association, governing documents, and architectural review. Compare the individual home’s layout, lot, and surroundings.

A home in the greater Glenshire area does not automatically include GDRA recreation privileges. Confirm the property’s association, assessments, and access before purchase.
THE GLENSHIRE / DEVONSHIRE RECREATION HUB

Meet at the clubhouse.
Make a day of it.

The clubhouse grounds bring the community together beside the pond, with places to gather, play, and enjoy the seasons.

WALK · RUN · RIDE · EXPLORE

Follow the river.
Find your next favorite walk.

The paved Truckee River Legacy Trail connects the Glenshire area with Truckee River Regional Park along the river. It’s a local favorite for walking, running, and biking.

For a longer outing, explore the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail’s route maps and alerts. Trail surfaces, elevation changes, and access vary by section.

Two different trail experiences
The Legacy Trail is public. The GDRA Lake Trail is private for residents and guests. The pond is a wildlife habitat: no swimming, boating, fishing, or skating.

EAST TRUCKEE CONNECTIONS

Find your way
around The Shire.

Glenshire Drive links the neighborhood with central Truckee. To the east, Hirschdale Road provides a connection to I-80 for travel toward Reno.

Compare a home’s location with the clubhouse, school, trail access, and the routes you use most. Drive times change with weather, road work, and winter traffic.

GOOD QUESTIONS TO ASK

Before you choose a home.

Does every Glenshire-area home include the pool?

No blanket assumption applies across this area. Verify GDRA membership, the current facilities policy, access fees, and guest rules for the specific property. Cambridge Estates and Elkhorn Ridge have their own associations.

Can you swim or paddle in the neighborhood pond?

The GDRA pond is a wildlife habitat. Swimming, boating, fishing, skating, and other entry are prohibited. For a separate reservoir outing, review Boca’s current recreation information.

Where are the walking and hiking options?

The public Legacy Trail runs beside the Truckee River between the Glenshire area and Truckee River Regional Park. Use Tahoe-Pyramid Trail maps for longer routes, and the GDRA maps and Lake Trail rules for association open space.

Which HOA documents should I review?

Start with the applicable association’s CC&Rs and amendments, bylaws, current rules, financials, assessment information, and architectural requirements. Confirm the home’s recorded association obligations in its title and resale documents.
